Fully funded workplace training and development for North Yorkshire employers
Employers across North Yorkshire can now access free learning and development opportunities designed to help create more inclusive, supportive and productive workplaces.
Available through the Get Britain Working Economic Inactivity Trailblazer, the programme from North Yorkshire Council gives employers practical support to develop workplace cultures where employees feel valued, supported and able to thrive in work.
Feedback gathered from employers during the first year of the programme highlighted the important role inclusive workplace cultures can play in improving employee wellbeing, retention and workforce participation.
In response, a programme of free in-person training and online learning has been developed to help businesses put these principles into practice.
🧑🏻🏫 Free in-person training across North Yorkshire
Two face-to-face training sessions will be available at venues across North Yorkshire, focusing on Employee Wellbeing and Manager Skills.
The Employee Wellbeing session explores personal resilience, wellbeing and mental health, giving employees practical knowledge they can apply within the workplace.
The Manager Skills session is designed specifically for those responsible for supporting others, helping managers build the knowledge and confidence they need to create positive workplace cultures and support their teams effectively.

🧑🏻💻 Develop your workforce with free online learning
Alongside the face-to-face sessions, employers and employees can access a comprehensive online learning package through the Learning Zone.
The programme provides organisations with a flexible way to develop knowledge and confidence around inclusive workplace practices, with modules covering:
- Equality, diversity and inclusion
- Neurodiversity awareness
- Disability etiquette and inclusive recruitment
- Tackling bias and harassment
- Cultural awareness and inclusive communication
- Building resilience and emotional intelligence
Employees can complete the learning online, making it easier for organisations to incorporate development into their existing schedules.

Organisations can register for a Learning Zone account and activate the Trailblazer learning programme using a dedicated access code.

Second registration window now open for tax advisers
Registration is now open for tax advisers in the second phase of the new Modernising and Mandating Tax Adviser Registration (MMTAR) rollout. This applies to any advisers with Self Assessment or Corporation Tax accounts, but without an agent services account (ASA). They have until 18 November 2026 to register.
