Brew York invests in a more sustainable future

When rising CO2 prices began putting pressure on Brew York, the team started looking for a more sustainable way to operate and reduce their reliance on external CO2 supplies.

With support from City of York Council and the Growth Hub, Brew York secured grant funding towards new nitrogen generation technology, through the Business Sustainability Programme.

The Growth Hub team supported the business throughout the process, from identifying the funding opportunity to reviewing the application and helping with the technical requirements.

The investment is expected to reduce Brew York’s CO2 emissions by around 900 tonnes over the next 10 years, while saving the business an estimated £500,000 in CO2 costs.

Watch the video to hear from Brew York and the team who supported them, and discover how sustainability funding helped turn an ambitious project into a practical investment for the business.
