May 6 | 12:30 pm - 12:50 pm

Join us for the first webinar in our Strategy for a Sustainable Future series: How can York and North Yorkshire become an energy independent region?

One of the key focuses of the Strategy is securing energy independence, providing locally-owned, affordable energy for all, enabling energy self-sufficiency, efficiency & supporting regional energy security.

Dr Stephen Hall is Senior Industry Research Fellow in Energy and Climate Futures at the University of York. Dr Hall is a political economist of energy system transformations, his work explores the business models, regulations and social impacts of Net Zero in the UK and internationally. Dr Hall has led research collaborations on creative solutions for domestic retrofit, business model and policy innovation for Net Zero energy systems, and the social impacts of decarbonising large technical systems.

The webinar will explore how we can drive our journey to a sustainable future through supporting and investing in energy resilience.

  • How do we diversify our energy system and increase energy resilience? How can it benefit you, our region, and our economy?
  • Answering your questions around what this Strategy has planned for securing energy independence.

We look forward to you joining us.
