Growth Hub launches programme of support for North Yorkshire Social Enterprises

York and North Yorkshire Growth Hub are proud to launch a programme of support for Social Enterprises in North Yorkshire. Working with delivery partners Community First Yorkshire and Social Vision, January will see the start of a programme designed to help North Yorkshire’s social enterprises to start, grow and prosper.

Social Enterprises are a vital part of North Yorkshire’s economy, who also provide important social benefits through the work they do. This programme will draw on best practice to deliver bespoke support targeting the needs of our region’s social entrepreneurs.

This wide-ranging programme will include:

  • Impact Workshops – Starting or Building Your Social Enterprise
    • These facilitated workshops will include information on legal structures, social mission and impact definition and business model canvas planning, as well as a diagnostic to understand the needs of attendees
  • hyve North Yorkshire – Micro-Grants Seed Funding
    • This will build on Social Vision’s success with hyve Selby to deliver a micro-grants programme to social entrepreneurs across North Yorkshire, with Action Learning sets to facilitate peer-learning and embed best practice
  • Mentoring and Peer-Learning
    • Sessions to support best-practice sharing with fellow social entrepreneurs, and  mentoring from local experts and action learning leaders
  • Capacity-Building Workshops and Support
    • A tailored programme of in-person and online sessions which will address technical and compliance skills as well as growth mindset and wellbeing approaches.
  • Social Vision Connects – Monthly Networking Events
    • Offering an opportunity for social entrepreneurs to meet, learn and share with their peers.

This programme will be delivered in partnership with Community First Yorkshire and Social Vision, and is funded by North Yorkshire Council through the Shared Prosperity Fund. As such, programme is eligibility is limited to social enterprises based within the North Yorkshire Council area.
