Perpetual Motion: Business Start Up Programme
18 Nov 2025
Got an idea? Want to start your own business? – this is for you!
This practical programme will take you through the business start-up process and help you to set up your new venture for success by creating a business model that is:
- Profitable – will make money.
- Scalable – designed to grow.
- Sustainable – well resourced.
Whether you’re thinking about starting a business in manufacturing, services, or software, this programme offers a strong foundation – and is open to anyone ready to take their first step into business.

Starting a new business is exciting but it can be daunting – even if you have done it before, there is quite a bit to think about, so where do you begin? Have you got your offer right? Who will your customers be and why will they buy from you? How will you make sales? How will you deliver? What resources will you need? How will you make money? What statutory rules do you need to consider? How can you grow your venture to reach more people and deliver a higher return?
This practical business start-up programme will take you step by step through each of these considerations and provide a series of tools and checklists to help you to make the right decisions with confidence and set your exciting new business venture up for success.
How will it work in practice?
The programme will run over an 8 week period. Every week there will be a 2 hour on line workshop covering a specific subject*. These subjects can all be combined to develop a business model that is appropriate for your idea. (*if you are unable to attend a session then recordings will be available.)
After each session delegates will receive tools and or checklists to apply their learning to their business idea – you can do this to your own timescale.
We will also run a couple of peer sessions for the group where you can come on line and share your experiences and thinking should you wish.
Finally each delegate will be entitled to 2 hours of one to one coaching with the programme facilitator
What subjects will be covered?
The core subjects covered will include:
- Assessment of your idea, and your vision for the business.
- Identifying and removing barriers that may prevent you from realising your vision.
- Optimising your offer
- Understanding your customers
- Selling your stuff
- Delivering your offer
- The numbers – making a profit.
- The statutory stuff. (Rules and regulations)
In addition to these core subjects the peer group sessions and coaching sessions are open to any specific subject about their new business idea that delegates might want to cover.
