Meet your local Business Support Officer

As the newly appointed Senior Business Advisor for Harrogate and Knaresborough, Michael’s primary role is to promote and support business growth and the economic potential of North Yorkshire. Michael takes the lead responsibility for delivering a bespoke one to one business engagement and support service to the businesses of the Harrogate and Knaresborough constituency.

What is the Hotseat?

The hotseat at the roadshows is your chance to access all of our Growth Hub specialists and the Local Authority’s Business Growth Advisor and bring your challenges for advice and support from the full team.

Who can apply for the Hotseat?

Businesses of any size, sector or status can apply for the hotseat in their area.

What kind of challenges does the Hotseat need to bring?

If your business needs support in any area, you can bring this to the team, such as recruitment, upskilling, impact of economic trends, marketing, export, procurement, carbon reduction and more! We’re looking for good discussion topics that the audience can also contribute to!

What kind of support can the business in the Hotseat expect?

The team has a plethora of expertise. You can expect a knowledgeable sound board, idea suggestions and referrals to available programs, as well any relevant funding options currently available.

What are the benefits of being in the Hotseat?

You will be able to showcase your business and services/products in front of a live audience, access support on a larger scale than meeting individuals, and have the opportunity to benefit from suggestions from other businesses in the room who have been there. There will also be time for networking following the panel session to build your connections.
