Online Workshop: Getting Started with your Social Enterprise

As part of our Programme of Support for Social Enterprises, this workshop is designed to help anybody interested in starting a social enterprise. Do you have an idea for a business which reinvests profit back into the community? Join us in this session to make it a reality.
About the Programme
Social Vision has teamed up with Community First Yorkshire to offer micro-grants and a support package to people in North Yorkshire with a business idea that will make their community a better place to live, work or play.
Grants of £500 are available to budding social entrepreneurs to test their idea or buy the tools they’ll need to launch their business. There will also be networking events, Action Learning Sets, and a package of support from Community First Yorkshire to set up and grow your idea.
As part of this new programme, Community First Yorkshire will be running a range of start-up sessions, enterprise workshops and a mentoring programme. Taking place online and in-person, these free sessions aim to improve confidence, capacity and capability in starting up or growing a social enterprise in North Yorkshire.
About this session
During this initial workshop, we will introduce different elements of the social enterprise journey, including set-up, finance and purpose and provide opportunity for questions and discussion.
As the programme progresses, the content of further workshops will be guided by what you want or need! The results of an initial health-check will help us to target support and expertise to start to plug any gaps and open up opportunities. We will invite experienced social entrepreneurs alongside specialist trainers and facilitators. Expect to cover funding, people management, sustainability and more.
