Whitby Workshop Series: Digital Tools for your Tourism Business
22 Oct 2025
This engaging workshop series delivered by Hello Technology is designed to help tourism and hospitality businesses harness the power of digital tools to grow their brand, attract more customers, and improve the overall customer experience. Delivered over five focused sessions, each workshop blends expert-led guidance with practical exercises, giving attendees the opportunity to apply new strategies directly to their business. With a mix of group learning and tailored support, participants will leave with a clear digital roadmap, increased confidence, and actionable insights to drive long-term success.

Week 1: Marketing Strategy
We will begin by reviewing each participant’s current digital marketing activities. Through a series of guided exercises, we will help clarify what each business offers and identify its ideal customer. Time will be spent critiquing websites, social media accounts, and other digital channels to highlight areas for improvement. Participants will be encouraged to reflect on challenges and opportunities. This session will lay the groundwork for the rest of the programme and help maximise the potential for digital transformation.
Week 2: Websites & Booking Systems
An overview will be provided on how websites, email accounts, and hosting work. We will work through practical tasks to review website structure and content, and explore the customer journey to identify ways to improve conversion and sales. A range of booking systems and online payment platforms will be introduced, with pros and cons discussed. We will also share top SEO tips to help businesses become more visible across search engines and AI tools.
Week 3: Email Marketing & Social Media
Building on the website review, we will explore email marketing and social media strategies. For those new to these tools, support will be given to get set up with suitable platforms. Together, we will develop a content strategy tailored to each business. The session will include a demonstration of email funnels and automation, and we will examine how these tools can support broader marketing goals.
Week 4: Trust, Customer Service & Reviews
We will focus on reputation management and customer service. Participants will be introduced to various review platforms and guided on how to gather more positive reviews and respond effectively to negative feedback. Tools such as chat widgets, AI support bots, and automation systems will be explored to enhance customer service. We will also review website trust signals to ensure businesses are presenting themselves as credible and reliable.
Week 5: Keep Them Coming Back
In the final session, we will reflect on progress made and explore how digital tools can be integrated to enhance the customer experience. The customer journey will be reassessed to ensure clear communication, improved service delivery, and increased revenue. Participants will be supported in identifying next steps and provided with a curated list of tools and technologies to continue their digital development.
Weekly 1-to-1 Support
Between sessions, each business will receive one hour of dedicated 1-to-1 support per week (totalling five hours). This time will be used to help implement the tools and strategies introduced during the workshops. Support will be delivered either remotely or in person, depending on the needs and preferences of each business.
