Workshop: Social Mission (repeat)

31 Mar 2025

So, you’re starting a social enterprise. What difference will this make? What is the problem you want to solve? How will you know if anything has changed. This session will introduce you to setting out your vision and measuring your impact, making sure you are having a positive impact on your community and providing a market solution to a social need.

Social Vision has teamed up with Community First Yorkshire to offer micro-grants and a support package to people in North Yorkshire with a business idea that will make their community a better place to live, work or play.

Grants of £500 are available to budding social entrepreneurs to test their idea or buy the tools they’ll need to launch their business. There will also be networking events, Action Learning Sets, and a package of support from Community First Yorkshire to set up and grow your idea.

As part of this new programme, Community First Yorkshire will be running a range of start-up sessions, enterprise workshops and a mentoring programme. Taking place online and in-person, these free sessions aim to improve confidence, capacity and capability in starting up or growing a social enterprise in North Yorkshire.

Social Enterprise Micro-Grant programme

Grants of exactly £500 will be distributed by Social Vision to social entrepreneurs across the region, with the exclusive purpose of aiding them to test a social enterprise idea. As part of our wider programme of support for Social Enterprises, the Growth Hub are excited to launch a Micro-Grant programme, in partnership with Social Vision. This builds on their previous experience delivering a similar programme in Selby.
