The Leadership Excellence and Development (LEAD) Programme is tailored for business owners who want to strengthen their leadership skills and drive business growth. Over six months, this programme covers key areas essential for your success, delivered by experts in their fields through a mix of workshops, coaching, and consultancy.

Funding

We’re pleased to inform you that the courses in this programme are 50% funded by the UK Government through the Shared Prosperity Fund, as allocated by North Yorkshire Council. This funding makes the programme even more accessible, allowing you to gain valuable skills and insights at a reduced cost.

Learn innovative strategies to recruit, develop, and retain top talent with expert guidance from GPC Skills (Gareth Preece).

GPC Skills helps business leaders and HR teams think and act more strategically about their people, to ensure they have the essential structure, processes and skills for success.

Gareth was the Skills Specialist at the Department for International Trade, supporting hundreds of businesses that set up and expanded in the UK. He has previously designed and delivered First Line Management training programmes, and GPC Skills Ltd. delivered the Skills Service (Growth Works with Skills) for Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Combined Authority for the 3 years to December 2023, working with hundreds of organisations helping them to address their skills needs, through internships training brokerage, developmental workshops and consultancy.

Aim: To deliver a Masterclass for attendees to discover the advantages of new, innovative, and alternative recruitment methods & behaviours. Challenging conventions and traditional approaches many of which have become obsolete and, as a result, fail to provide the employer with effective outcomes. Understand how to “inspire before you hire,” extend the talent pool, attract new candidates, improving selection decisions and employee retention.

Aim: To deliver a Masterclass for attendees to explores the reasons why people leave their employers and introduce ways to help retain people in a positive, developmental environment, without resorting to ineffective and unsustainable continual pay rises.

Andrea Morrison has trained in a specific state of mind-based psychology with leading Psychologists in USA and Canada. She has also recently qualified in MSc in Psychology (BPS recognised) with Commendation, her thesis focused on Stress and Wellbeing amongst Female Entrepreneurs and confirmed the efficacy of the work she does. She is a Graduate Member of the British Psychological Society, Member of the Association of Coaches and the Three Principles Global Community.

Beyond Your Vision Coaching is designed for those businesses who are looking to remove the internal barriers that are preventing them from growing and scaling. This is aimed at established business owners wanting to push to the ‘next level’ of growth and have become stuck. Also the extended 20 hours will enable to those businesses that need it to have in-depth support and provide an intensive 2 day provision that has proved to be transformational with previous clients.

Space for Wisdom Coaching & Masterclass ‘Finding clarity & calm in the stress & overwhelm’ – This is aimed at business owners/directors and team members who feel that they have reached their limit, ultimately creating a toxic culture or heading for burnout therefore negatively impacting growth.

Beyond Your Vision Coaching 121 & Masterclass ‘Realising Your Business Potential’ – This is aimed at established business owners who require the removal of internal barriers preventing them growing and scaling to the next level.

Business Leadership and Management

Gain valuable insights into effective leadership and management practices with the Going for Gold programme from Assetiam Business Consultancy Services (Andy Knowles).

After a long 30+ year career from working from ‘tools to boardroom’ Andy has spent the last seven years supporting a wide range of micro and SME business owners with a range of challenges. This includes improving overall business leadership and awareness of critical areas, plus management style and effectiveness, culture, lack of processes, poor sales performance, poor retention and many other elements of the business lifecycle.

Jane Slimming is a successful entrepreneur who founded and run two businesses and has equity in a further two. These are profitable businesses and have grown under her involvement. She is incredibly passionate about growing businesses in the Yorkshire Region and the positive impact this has on the economic bottom line and on creating more jobs.

Lisa Lister has been supporting directors of SMEs across the region for over 20 years. She provides workshops and consultancy and facilitates multiple leadership groups and peer to peer networking events.
