This fast-moving breakfast seminar from the Hartree Centre North East Hub will cover a wide range of topics related to data-driven innovation, including an introduction to data, an exploration of data sources and analysis, building a ML model, an introduction to LLMs, case studies, and implementation strategies.
What’s on?
During the event we will delve into the world of data-driven innovation and learn about a wide range of topics. This will include:
Introduction to Innovating with Data: Setting the stage for the workshop, this session will introduce the concept of data-driven innovation.
What is Data?: We will delve into the world of data, exploring various sources of data, methods of analysis, visualisation techniques, machine learning and Generative AI.
Data Visualisation?: This session will explain why data visualisation is necessary, share some no code and low code tools for data visualisation and introduce the python chart gallery.
Machine Learning: This session will introduce the topic of machine learning for beginners and will consider classification by ML as a use case, building our own ML models using picture cards in small groups finishing up with a fun game of Dog or Bagel!
Generative AI: In the era of generative AI business solutions we will explore the capabilities of this new technology and share some interesting examples of LLM augmented decision support tools.
Throughout we will share case studies of successful data-driven innovation projects, highlighting the challenges faced, solutions implemented, and outcomes achieved.
By the end of the workshop, delegates will have a good understanding of data-driven innovation, its power, and its potential impact on their organisations. They will be equipped with the skills, knowledge, and tools needed to identify and develop innovative ideas, solutions, and services that drive growth and productivity in their businesses.

This event will be held at C4DI Northallerton, Wing 1852, 10 The Treadmills, Crosby Road, Northallerton, DL6 1AU
Please be aware parking outside C4DI (Lidl car park) is restricted to 90 minutes only, beyond which you will receive a ticket. Crosby Road Car Park (DL6 1EP) is the closest pay and display and is only a few minutes’ walk away.
